Bishop Nick, the Bishop of Salisbury came to lead our worship in St Nicholas Church Silton on Sunday 26th May to celebrate the creation of the new Benefice of Gillingham, Milton on Stour and Silton. One of the things he said was what a wonderful breadth of different opportunities for worship there are, with Silton bringing to the mix the beautiful traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer. Around the Team there is worship that is informal and participative in a School and a church, there is regular Holy Communion services on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, there is Matins, Evensong, not to mention 3 or 4 times a year a Free Exchange Cafe with a ‘pause for thought’ and opportunities for those want to write a ‘say one for me’ postcard prayer or light a candle. Services happen in barns, churches, schools and even the swimming pool. There are many possibilities for serving either in the church or the community. For more details do look at the diary, or whats on pages, or contact the office for more information.
