Day 14 Wednesday, 18 November
I spoke with someone the other day who usually spends Christmas with their son in London. But they won’t be doing that this year, even if they’re allowed to. As many will say, “The last thing I want to give my parents this year is coronavirus.”
Others, quite understandably, are desperate to be with family and will be so if permitted. (Others still will want to test their eyesight and embark upon a mad dash across the country even if it’s not allowed.)
Perhaps this Christmas, when we surely won’t be able to do everything as normal, each of us should be thinking about what we really value about Christmas and how to sustain those ideals given the extraordinary circumstances we’re in.
