This week, at a time of your own choosing you can walk in a meandering way to Lent walk destination 2.  When you arrive you should find something in a jam jar to take home and perhaps prompt some thoughts as you journey through Lent.  If when you visit there are only a few unopened jars left, please e-mail me so I know to pop up with replacements.
Lent Walk 2
This weeks destination is St Nicholas, Silton, a beautiful and ancient church in the village of Silton. The jam jars will be in the porch again. Please only touch one jam jar and move the empty to the other end of the stone bench.  In ‘normal’ times the church is open all the time, because of Covid19 it has been locked except on Wednesdays.  When we are able to open again do enjoy a walk back to look inside at the decorated walls and a large memorial to Judge Wyndham.  The view from the church is stunning, and looking over the fields you can see the ancient oak, called Wyndhams Oak which is thought to be c1000 years old.
The routes once again are many. You can go wholly by road, or through fields and lanes, or part way on bike and foot, or most of the way by car and finish on foot – your choice! Take care if you walk on the road, and please stick to public or permissive footpaths if you go via the fields.
If you need a suggestion for a route let us know.
Here are some things seen and enjoyed on the journey, and a sound clip of a lark…and the wind!
